Why is it so hard to say goodbye?

2018 is here!  I love new beginnings.  Fresh starts.  Writing goals.  Lists. Hopefulness.

but, I don't want to let go of 2017.

Louise was here is 2017.

and she won't be here in 2018 or forward.

My sweet girl.  She was one of the best parts of our day for 12 short years.

Year one of grief is always so difficult for me.  A year of firsts without her here.  Christmas 2017 was a glorious day, but her presence was missed.

Her stocking was hung because she's still a part of the family.

We just miss her too much.
